Mitzi Lee Baker, age 59, of Henderson, Nevada passed away peacefully on September 2, 2020.
Mitzi was born in Placentia, California to Barbara and Rod Cooley on September 6, 1960. As native Californians, Mitzi and her sisters (the Cooley girls) had a lot of fun growing up. She attended El Dorado High School and worked various jobs throughout her young life.
In 1984, Mitzi gave birth to her first child, Daniel. Her daughters, Brittany and Nicki, followed shortly thereafter. She dedicated every day to providing a wonderful life for her children. From homemade school lunches to matching outfits, soccer and football games to baton and cheerleading practice, homecomings to graduations, Mitzi was there for every moment of her children’s lives and ensured they lived a warm and happy childhood.
In 2009, Mitzi decided to leave California for the hot Nevada desert to be with Tom. Tom and Mitzi spent their time enjoying “Sin City” with fun sports picks, occasional Vegas shows, dining at their favorite restaurants and testing their luck at the video poker machines. Mitzi found happiness in the simpler things in life, shopping and decorating for the seasons, I Love Lucy reruns, a classic patty melt, a cold beer after a long day, and Sunday football.
Mitzi will be remembered as a thoughtful and caring person. She established cherished traditions and instilled wonderful memories in the lives of those close to her, which will be carried on in memory of her forever.
Mitzi is preceded in death by her father Rod, stepfather Ron, brother Jeff, and sister Melia. She is survived by her beloved spouse Tom, children Daniel, Brittany and Nicki, mother Barbara, sister Michele, grandson Dylan, nephews Vince, Freddy, and Anthony, and nieces Amy, Ashley, Leslie, and Alexis.
