Morton Fox

Morton Fox, 79, of Las Vegas passed away October 22nd, 2011 at University Medical Center after contracting West Nile virus. He was born on April 4, 1932 in Easton, Maryland to Harry and Esther Fox. He served with distinction in the U.S. Army and retired with the rank of Lt. Colonel after 24 years of service. Morton served multiple tours of duty in Vietnam and was decorated for bravery in combat. After retiring from the Army in 1977 he attended the University of Karlsruhe in Germany and acquired a doctorate in chemical engineering. Earlier he had attended the University of Maryland where he was awarded a bachelors and masters degree in food science. After acquiring his doctorate, he joined the faculty of the Travel Industry Management School at the University of Hawaii at Manoa where he achieved the position of full professor and professor emeritus. Morton was an avid golfer and enjoyed singing in barbershop quartets. Morton is survived by his devoted wife, Giselle, loving children, Thea, Suzy, Herman, Deb and Cynthia, 13 grandchildren and 5 greatgrandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the University of Hawaii AAF Scholarship Fund at P.O. Box 28024, Las Vegas, NV 89126. There will be a private celebration of life at a later date.
