Paul was truly one of a kind. Born in Chicago Illinois on July 16, 1930 to Palle and
Edith Friis the first born of four. He graduated high school and joined the navy in
1949. Married once and forever, a widow, Bobbie Jeanne Morey of Grants Pass
Oregon Dec 19, 1952. He claimed he married her because he fell in love with her
son Michael...
The adventure begins. To Las Vegas 1953. Managed Bar Ken Kennels on Smoke
Ranch Rd. Owned and operated Pet Town USA on Lake Mead Blvd NLV 195458.
Moved his family to CA and worked as a traveling sales rep for Zylco Knives and
Rena Ware. Paul was the Head of sales staff for Icoa Insurance Co for several years,
during these years he trained horses and dogs, MCd rodeos, and clowned all for
fun He was FUN.
Returning to Vegas in 65 he hosted Two On the Isle, a local daytime TV program.
Paul was an entrepreneur, he commissioned the artist Montyne to sculpt the famous
statues in front of Circus Circus Casino. Opened Signalite Corporation in 77. He
designed and built the first race and sports book in town at Circus Circus Hotel. His
art can be found all over the city as he designed many signs interior and exterior.
