Raymond Johnson

Raymond Dale Johnson, age 71, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away on Monday, November 23, 2015 at Desert Springs Hospital. He was born in Onawa, Iowa to Walt and Ione Johnson on May 21, 1944. He graduated from Moorhead Community School in Moorhead, Iowa and then graduated from the Sioux City School of Barbering.
While serving his barber's apprenticeship in Galva, Iowa, Ray met Cheryl Bruns. They married on October 11, 1964, had two children, and spent the next 51 years together, with Cheryl at his side at his passing.
Whether a barber, sports editor and chief photographer for the LeMars Daily Sentinel, salesman or operating his apparel printing/embroidery business, Ray was always quick with a joke and his laugh was contagious.
Ray was preceded in death by his father, Walt, and his brother, Paul. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl, his sons, Robert and Richard, grandchildren Anthony and Taylor, great grandchildren Keagan and Karsyn, mother, Ione Johnson of Omaha, Nebraska; a sister, Jeanyce Means of Omaha, Nebraska.
A memorial service will be held at Davis Funeral Home, 1401 S. Rainbow Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89146 on Sunday, January 17, 2016 at 2:00 PM. A reception will immediately follow the service.
