Rene "Speedy" Wright, 61, was born on August 31, 1959, in Los Angeles California at John Wesley Hospital, to Dorothy Jean Wright and Wesley Wright. He departed this life on Thanksgiving morning, November 26, 2020, at UMC Hospital in Las Vegas, NV. He was preceded by his younger brother Aubrey Abrams. Speedy attended Horseman Junior High, and later graduated from George Washington High. After secondary schooling, he went on to train at Marsings Job Corp where he studied trades in culinary and painting.
Although Speedy could paint very well he found a passion for cooking. Bertha's was his first experience in a professional kitchen there he got to honed his culinary skills. After a few years he began to work at The Hollywood Park Casino there he continued his love for cooking. After wanting a change of scenery and ample opportunities Speedy decided to move to Las Vegas, NV. Upon his arrival in he was offered a job at the El Cortez in Downtown Las Vegas. This was his most memorial job, but speedy went on to be a successful cook at many hotels & casinos in the Las Vegas valley.
Speedy is survived by his mother, Dorothy Jean, three sisters, Drissro Dominguez, Christy Wright, and Margo Holly, and a host of Family and Friends.
