Robert Roumanos

Robert Roumanos died on December 26, 2020 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

“Bobby” was a strong gentleman with a kind heart. He knew no strangers, held no grudges, and loved with an intensity that few people this side of heaven could genuinely exhibit. He was a lover of family, hunting and old Country music; And he lived by the motto, “Know when to hold them, know when to fold them, and know when to walk away”.

Bobby Roumanos was born in Sebhel, Lebanon on June 25, 1940. He was the oldest of five children born to Mary and Joseph Roumanos. As a dual citizen, he moved to the United States in 1958 due to political strife in his homeland, and after reaching America he served honorably in the U.S. Army for four years. Upon separating from the Army, he worked as a machinist in various locations around the U.S. before making a fateful visit to a fishing dock in Florida. There he met the love of his life, Patsy (Newberry), and after marrying in Connecticut, they built houses, owned a Men’s Clothing Store and went on to raise four children together in Las Vegas, Nevada.

After moving to Nevada in 1976, Bobby established and managed several Poker rooms around the valley. He was well respected in his field and known by many throughout the country. He was even recruited by the Trump Taj Majal in Atlantic City at the height of his career.

Bobby enjoyed his time with family more than anything, but fishing, hunting and boating came in as a close second. Combining family and those hobbies together provided him with a life that he was profoundly proud of. He spent many hours each week keeping in touch with the family he loved throughout the world.

Robert “Bobby” Roumanos is survived by his loving wife, Patsy of 52 years; his children and their spouses, Kellie and Ken Day, Mary and Lee MacDiarmid, and Rob and Amy Roumanos; his 12 grandchildren, Ashleigh, Andrew, Jacob, Kathy, Amelia, Victoria, Elizabeth, Joey, Evelyn, Abby, Robby and Adam; His Mother, Mary; His sisters Sonia, Jamal and Josephine; his brother Bill; many nieces and nephews and countless cousins and friends around the world.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Kathy and his father Joseph.

The viewing will be at 10:00 a.m. and services will be held at Saint Sharbel Church, 10325 Rancho Destino Rd in Las Vegas, Nevada on January 2nd at 10:30 a.m. Due to Covid restrictions, the graveside service will be for the family.
