Rodney Smalls

Rodney Joseph Smalls departed this life on June 10, 2014. He was born on May 18, 1934 to Janie B. Smalls in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Rodney had two sisters, Edna and Eleanor. He became a Christian at an early age at Rome Emmanuel Baptist Church. He graduated Benjamin Franklin High School and attended Temple University. Rodney served in the Army National Guard.

Rodney was joined in marriage to Joan Benson also of Philadelphia on August 23, 1958. To this union their beloved daughter Rhonda Jane was born. Rodney worked for Unisys Corporation and traveled the world as a systems analyst. He retired from Unisys in 1995. After he worked for Legion Design and Campbell as an administrative consultant in Washington D.C until 1999.
He and Joan moved to Las Vegas in 1999 to be closer to Rhonda who was in Los Angeles. Here is where they found fellowship in Jesus Christ at Victory Missionary Baptist Church. Rodney approached life with a positive attitude and loved spending time with his family.

Rodney leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife Joan, his daughter Rhonda and soninlaw Xavier Ramos, two beautiful grandchildren Ryan and Erica his sister Eleanor and brotherinlaw James Dutton, his nephews Frank Pritchett and Derrick Dutton and his wife Laurie, cousins Mary McIntire, Martha Berry and Olivia Williams and many loving friends.
