Roland Joseph L’Heureux, 89, of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away on April 18, 2024 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Roland was born in Los Angeles, California to Omer and Irene L’Heureux on July 24, 1934. His earliest childhood was spent in Los Angeles and later in Arcadia. He attended Holy Angels grade school in Arcadia and Mission High School in Alhambra. He married Pamela Algwen Simpson on February 19, 1955 at St. Andrew’s Church in Pasadena, California. Roland served in the Armed Forces as a machinist and was stationed at Forts Belvoir and Leonard Wood. His final year of service was in Korea prior to his honorable discharge in 1960.
Following Roland’s return to southern California he followed his father’s path working in construction and obtained a General Contractor’s license. He designed and built many spec homes, as well as accomplishing residential and light commercial remodeling projects. He worked on several Pasadena Showcase homes and his work was published in Architectural Digest.
Roland and Pamela moved to Las Vegas in 1992 where he was first employed by Caesar’s World and later by Raymond Company. He supervised the construction of Caesar’s high roller penthouse suites and the finished carpentry work on the facades in the Paris and New York New York hotels.
Roland was also a generous volunteer assisting many schools and churches with his carpentry and construction skills.
Roland is preceded in death by his parents, Omer and Irene, and his brother Roger. He is survived by Pamela, his wife of 69 years, daughters Laura and Letitia, granddaughter Ariel, brothers Ronald and Richard, and sister Mary.
Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on May 6, 2024 at St Joseph Husband of Mary Church in Las Vegas, Nevada. Burial will be held the following day at 10:20 a.m. on May 7, 2024 at The Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada.
Pallbearers will be Richard L’Heureux, Ronald L’Heureux, Craig Rundbaken and Steven Hansel.
