Ronald Worthy

Ronald Worthy of North Las Vegas, NV. was born July 22, 1950 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Guy and Jannie Worthy. A total of 41 years he served his country in the United States Airforce. He retired in the year 2010 at the grade of TSGT from Nellis Air force base after 20 years on Active Duty for the United States Air Force and an additional 21 years as a civilian government employee. He was honored in 2010 by the office of former Mayer Oscar Goodman, who declared July 23rd to be "Ronald Worthy Day" on the official calendar as a thank you for his services to the United States Government and the Las Vegas community. Though in his career he was awarded with many awards, honors and declarations, Ronald's greatest achievement was the love, loyalty and respect he shared between, family and many lifelong friends. Not only was Ron a good son, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend; he was also a devout member of the church. He attended Victory Missionary Baptist Church for many years where he served the Lord on their Usher Board Auxiliary.

Ronald is survived by Ayanna Worthy, Ebony Worthy and Diane Smalls, his three loving daughters between he and the late Diane Smalls. Ron is also survived by his brother Darrin Worthy; life long friend Roman Richardson; six grandchildren, Michael Worthy, Jarel Lysius, Jacob Smalls, Nasir Worthy, Adyn Smalls, and Lateef Smalls; three great grandchildren, Michael Worthy Jr., Alaya Worthy, and Aylaa Worthy. Ronald is further survived by two aunts Shirley Mitchel and Marilyn Wilkes; five cousins Eugene Otto Wilson, Lewis Robinson, Steven and Jonathan Wilkes and Kathy Wilkes Cordner; three nephews, David, Wendell and Terrell Worthy; niece Crystal Worthy and a host of loving releative and friends.

Ronald was blessed to have lifelong brothers like Otto Wilson, Bryon Howard, Eddie Bryant and Jerry Durr. He was also blessed with the love of and had a special love for Alyssia Dismuke (mother to his great grand daughters), and his God daughter Tashe Pitman and daughter Tachelle.

Visitation for Mr. Worthy will be held on Friday September 9, 2016 from 9:00 AM until 8:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home located at 1401 S. Rainbow Blvd, Las Vegas NV 89146. Funeral Services for Mr. Worthy will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Victory Missionary Baptist Church located at 500 W. Monroe Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89106 with Reverend Charles R. Smith officiating. Burial will take place on Monday September 12, 2016 at 9:20 AM at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, NV
