Sherrill Laverne Cooper was born August 16, 1958 to Elizabeth Cooper and Hurley Hopkins in Tallulah, Louisiana. As a child she moved to Houston, Texas with her grandparents. Then in 1964 she moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where she later birthed three children with Clint Ray McCree.
During her short time on earth, she touched many lives and made numerous friends in Compton, California and Atlanta, Georgia. While in Las Vegas she met her partner Roney Dunncan and they later moved to Atlanta, Georgia and resided there the last six years of her life. Her determinations for a well educated youth led her become a preschool teacher.
To her family, she was a survivor. She believed in loyalty to her family and loved her familys presence around her. Sherrill believed in living life to the fullest. Through her trials and tribulations, she always kept a faithful relationship with God.She attended Great Commission Interdenominational Church of North Las Vegas Nevada, under the leadership of Bishop Hooks and Rev Bailey. Sherrill has not left us she has simply given us her heart and spirit to live on.
Sherrill is survived by her three beautiful children Deric Cooper Las Vegas NV, Latasha McCree Las Vegas, NV and her youngest child Kedrin McCree
Medford, Oregon. She also leaves behind her sisters Ruth Washington and Laura Cooper, and brothers Lonzo Bryant, Martin Cooper, Larry Cooper, Barry Cooper, Dewayne Cooper, Robert Cleveland and the late Marguerite Thompson. She had eleven beautiful grandchildren, two great grandchildren, Zayln and Adrien, an abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends she also considered family.
