KIRKA, Stephen Leonard

On June 5th, 2019, Stephen Leonard Kirka, husband, father, son and brother passed away at the age of 77 years.  Steve will be forever remembered by family and friends.

Steve was preceded in death by his loving wife, Patricia, and parents, Stephen Joseph and Marjorie.

Steve is survived by multiple family members and siblings.  His son Tony and Tony’s children, AJ and Samantha; his daughter, Erin; his sister-in-law, Kathy (Ken) and her children, Tyler and Nichole; sister-in-law Susan Kennedy and children David, Patrick and Kim.  Sisters, Donna (Pat), Mary (Marty) Cheryl (Robert) Marji (Terry) and Karen (Butch), and brothers, Charles (Marci deceased), Martin (Diane deceased) and Paul.  Steve is also survived by several nephews, nieces and grandchildren.

Steve was a graduate of De La Salle High School in Chicago, Illinois.  He was Honorably Discharged from the USAF (United States Air Force), which included a tour in Vietnam.  Steve worked and retired from the Chicago Bureau of Forestry.

Steve had a deep love of all sports.  He was a huge fan of the Chicago White Sox, and of course the Bears.  He was an avid fan of Wrestling, fashioning his mustache like Hulk Hogan’s.  His second love was "The Blues" and music.  Steve had a wonderful personality and will be missed by all who knew him.

A celebration of Steve's life will be held at 6pm Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Davis Funeral Home, located at 1401 S. Rainbow Blvd., Las Vegas, Nevada 89146.

There will be a small memorial, after the cremation, at Steve's final resting place.  It will be held at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery, located at 2755 West 111st, Chicago, Illinois 60655.  He will be laid to rest with his beloved wife, Patricia.
