Steven Delao, 58, of Las Vegas, NV, passed away on April 26, 2020 after complications due to COVID-19.
Steven Delao was born on January 24, 1962 to Felipe Delao and Hermila Guerra Delao at Johnson Air Station, Japan. In 1964 they moved to Riverside, Ca at March Air Reserve Base, and then once again to Torrejon Air Base, Spain from 1965-1969. The Delao family landed at Francis E. Warren Air Base, Wyoming from 1970-1972. That is where Steven’s father retired from the Air Force and the family decided to move to Moreno Valley, CA.
After graduating from Moreno Valley High School, as Valedictorian, in 1979, Steven landed his first job at IBM, kicking off a 38-year career in Project Management and later transferring to Quality Assurance Representative.
Steven met Rox Anne Barrow in high school, and they were wed in June, 1982. They have two children, Brandon Mitchel Delao and Loren Nichole Delao. After Rox Anne’s passing on October 13, 1995 Steven met Catherine Saul and was wed in March 22, 2014.
After retiring from IBM in May, 2017, Steven went on to work for Loomis Armored Car until his passing in April, 2020. Steven spent his time tinkering and learning various hobbies to include, but not limited to, hunting, shooting, horseback riding, camping, ATV riding, and welding. He was also involved in his community with Canyon Ridge Christian Church, Cub Scouts, and was part of a Jeep club as well as Hams Radio Club.
Steven is survived by his wife Catherine Delao and her son Louie along with his children Brandon Mitchel Delao and Loren Nichole Layne.
